But in spite of grand success, the company unveiled its sensational new Swift 2011 model today on 17th August 2011 with some cosmetic changes. The hatchback Swift 2011 comes with more stylish clear headlamps along with increased level of comfort. Engine & Specifications

The all new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2011 is blessed with 1298cc, 4 Cylinder, 16 valves petrol engine. This powerful engine is capable of producing maximum power of 87 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm at 4500 rpm.

The 1.3 L Multijet diesel engine from Fiat will be doing the duties in the new Swift as well. This engine offers an impressive power of 75 bhp at 4000 rpm along with generating thumping torque of 190 Nm at 2000 rpm. Both the engines are mated with 5 Manual gears.

Exterior

The refreshed Swift 2011 is now wider and longer than the current running model. The height of the hatchback is reduced by 20 mm as compared to 2010 model. The all new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2011 is bestowed with bigger and better headlamps with peeled back tail lamps. The gorgeous round shaped fog lamps with refined front and rear bumpers are latest addition in the Swift 2011 to increase its charm. New front grille and new wheel cover design are some other plus points of the hatchback.

Interior

The enchanting Swift 2011 has also got redefined interiors with new steering on which the controls for music/ telephone are mounted. The inside is now more spacious thanks to the increased length and width of the hatchback. The seats are comfortable with good amount of leg and shoulder room. The black upholstery is kept similar in the new Maruti Suzuki Swift 2011 model. The instrument cluster is now refreshed with silver and black finishing.

Comfort and Convenience

The sophisticated hatchback is well equipped with handy features apart from being comfortable. Strong build up with smooth shifting of gears ensures that performance is further boosted. It sprints from 0-100 kmph in just 10 seconds and clocks a maximum speed of 160 kmph.

Safety

The hatchback Swift 2011 is well equipped with safety features. These include 2 airbag and ABS (Antilock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Breakforce Distribution) for protection in critical braking conditions. These ensure that the car doesn’t skid with sudden braking. Also, fog lamps assure you better visibility in mist climate conditions.

Mileage

The all new Maruti Swift 2011 is expected to deliver an impressive mileage of around 15 Kmpl in city while 18.5 Kmpl on highways where as the diesel version is expected to offer mileage of around 17 Kmpl in city while 20 Kmpl on highways.

Price

The car is tagged in the range of Rs 4.22 lakh to Rs 6.38 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).

Drawback

The superb hatchback comes with some shortcomings. The headroom in the new Maruti Swift 2011 is less because of shortened height of the car. The boot space is also just 204 liters which is quiet less as compared to its rivals. The rear seats are somewhat cramped and might create problem in long journeys for a six-foot plus person.
